Empower India Foundation started the new year 2022 by launching Kolkata 2047, the first Chapter in West Bengal and the fourth Chapter in the country.

EIF, in the first phase, focuses primarily on the most backward Muslim minority districts listed by the central government, in forming its Chapters. Kolkata is among the 73 most backward Muslim minority districts in the country.

The Chapter was launched at a small function held at the Crestwood Hotel in Kolkata.

EIF Relations Head Faiz Mohammed presented the Chapter Concept and EIF CEO Mohamed Shaffeeq presented the Relevance of Empowerment. Abdul Gaffar was elected as the new president of Kolkata 2047 and Dr Inamur Rahman as the secretary. Sixteen members were inducted into the Chapter during the launch.

Dr Aneesuzaman welcomed the gathering and newly elected president Abdul Gaffar proposed a vote of thanks. Dr Inamur Rahman coordinated the event.
